There's a really great view of Mount Timpanogos from my sister's backyard and the clouds just happened to look amazing, so I ran inside and grabbed my camera. This was the result (after some experimentation in Photoshop). I think it turned out pretty cool.
Today I bought a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens. Translation: awesome depth of field. It's not an L series lens - but as a starving college student I'll take what I can get. I ordered it online, so it will take a few days to get here. I am so excited to get out and start shooting with it. It should be a lot of fun - I can't wait!
Every summer I try to get out to the fair that's held at the park near my sister's house. They have a carnival, some booths for shopping, and entertainment. But one of my favorite events is the annual car show. This year I went with my friend Rachel and my camera tagged along.
I thought that Rachel and I needed a picture to prove we were there. I'm the one with the camera.
The hearse was probably one of my favorite cars at the show. Not because I have some morbid fascination with death; it was simply beautiful inside and out.
Yes, there really are two people in this photograph. Here my sister was about 6 months pregnant with my niece Katherine. I shot this for Amy to put in the nursery.
